SEASONOVA

W E L C O M E
SEASONOVA offers consulting services for governments, and not-for-profit organizations, as well as the business, education, and social services sectors.
Launched in 2019, SEASONOVA is a federally-incorporated social enterprise driven to contribute to positive social and systems change. Our team has a combined 60+ years of prior experience in the Canadian Public Service.
Our Approach
SEASONOVA’s approach is underpinned by a commitment and belief that good public policy is rooted in evidence and is both inclusive and participatory. This approach is solutions-based, relevant and accountable. It aims to support the development and implementation of people-centric policies, programs and services, and agile and equitable systems.

What’s New?
SEASONOVA celebrated its 5th birthday with a milestone of 5 employees!
We thank our team, our community of practice, and our supportive clients and collaborators for your continued trust and partnership.
We are pleased to share some updates and toolkits that SEASONOVA co-created with our wonderful partnering organizations, all applying GBA Plus and EDIIA!
- Operation Black Vote Canada’s Seat at the Table Toolkit was launched at the Toronto City Hall on March 9, 2024. It is a toolkit focused on supporting Black women considering running for municipal elections. We are pleased to have provided research & technical support, in collaboration with the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.
- Achēv’s Advancing Equity for Women and Girls Project also launched a toolkit for employers, Paving the Way, which is an EDIA guide to support immigrant and racialized women in the Canadian labour force. This builds on the public engagement that we completed with Achēv and aligns with the three-part training we provided in Toronto. In addition, we are presenting on how GBA Plus was integrated in the project at the 26th Metropolis Canada Conference, focused on Our Immigration System: The Way Forward.
We are also co-hosting a conference on June 17, 2024 with Avalon Sexual Assault Centre to showcase a 5-year project focused on a Community Navigation Program to support survivors of sexualized violence and better reach systemically marginalized communities. We continue to integrate GBA Plus & EDIIA in initiatives to address gender-based violence.

March 2023
SEASONOVA is currently working with Achēv, a not-for-profit based in Toronto, Ontario on their Advancing Equity for Women and Girls (AEWG) project. We completed several focus groups with immigrant and racialized women entering the Canadian labour force, the challenges and barriers they encountered as well as the impact of COVID-19. Read the full report HERE.
SEASONOVA also continued our collaboration with Achēv for Phase II of the project, focusing on EDIA promising practices that can be shared with employers, policymakers and decision-makers to support the integration of immigrant and racialized women in the workplace. SEASONOVA is currently completing a toolkit for employers which will be ready later in 2023.
We are also supporting:
- Operation Black Vote Canada and the Federation of Canadian Municipalities to create a campaigning toolkit for Black women,
- Food Banks Canada to develop eLearning modules on the application of EDI in data collection and informed consent,
- Avalon Sexual Assault Centre in the areas of evaluation and research of several programs funded by WAGE, DND/SMSRC, and the Government of Nova Scotia, and
- Mining Industry Human Resources Council with the research and evaluation of their Safe Workplaces for All: Addressing Sexual Harassment in Canadian Mining project with the research report and infographic.
May 2022

The City of Ottawa has partnered with SEASONOVA to organize and facilitate engagement consultations to inform Phase 2 of the City’s Women and Gender Equity Strategy. These engagements will take place in May and June 2022. Registration to these sessions as well as the resident survey are found online at Engage Ottawa.
This past year, SEASONOVA supported and collaborated with the Equal Futures Network and The Canadian Partnership for Women and Children’s Health through three training offerings on Intersectional Monitoring & Evaluation (IME). We also organized and led a Gender-based Analysis Plus Audit of the Equal Futures Network with focus group sessions with EFN Members. We are happy to be featured on their annual report released on March 17, 2022, and found online HERE.
